Cleaning Before Check Out
We want to give your full deposit back to you and so it would help if you could look over the check list to ensure everything is clean & tidy. The most common reason for deductions is lack of cleanliness. We will use the condition report you signed at the beginning of the tenancy to determine whether the property has been returned in an acceptable condition. We expect the house to be returned in good condition. We will thoroughly check all areas, and we will charge you for any cleaning which is required to bring the property up to standard. This list is detailed but not exhaustive. Ensure the property is left spotless and there should be no cleaning charges against your deposit. At the inspection we will check: The front and rear of the house. The front and rear of the house should be clear of rubbish & leaves. Woodwork All door frames & skirting boards should be dusted and cleaned down. Carpets All carpets should have been vacuumed up to the edges and professionally cleaned if there has been particularly heavy staining. Floors All floors should have been swept and mopped up to the edges of appliances and fittings in the kitchen and bathroom. Bins ALL bins must have been emptied and cleaned thoroughly – pay special attention to kitchen and bathroom bins. All smoke alarms, light fittings: These should have working bulbs and batteries in them. We can charge for replacing light bulbs and batteries as the next tenant should not have to do this upon moving in. Lampshades Where there are lampshades they should be dust free. Curtains Where there are curtains or blinds they should be clean and hung in the correct rooms. Windows All windows and window sills should be left clean (inside only) and condensation free. Walls We will check all walls in the house to make sure there are no excessive picture hooks, marks, nails etc.
